About the Champagne tour departing from Reims

We will meet at 9:15am in Reims city center train station and before the first tasting of the day, your Sommelier or Guide will take you to one of his favorite places: The Reims Cathedral, where Kings of France used to be coronated. (A second pick-up is organised at 9:30am at the Cathedral.)

After that, we will leave the Reims area and head to the first Champagne tasting in a Maison de Champagne or a Family Champagne estate. We will visit the reputed Champagne cellars, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will learn about the history of Champagne, the grapes used for Champagne and the making-process etc. 

We will then head to Epernay, the second capital of Champagne where you will have a 90 minutes free time for lunch. We will indicate some good traditional french restaurants. After lunch we will pass by the Avenue de Champagne with its 200Millions bottles underground.

We will then take The Champagne Road for a lovely drive around the Champagne countryside. Your guide is a local professional guide or a certified sommelier. He will drive you across the Champagne vineyards explain the terroirs, the vines, the biodynamic process,  till the charming village of Hautvillers, Dom Perignon monk headquarter, where you will experiment your second tasting in a magic scenery.

Finally, you will meet an authentic family winegrowers for the  last Champagne tasting of the day with at least 3 Champagne tastings. 

Return to Epernay train station around 5pm.

Important information

. Lunch is not included in the price. For lunch time we will have a 90 minutes break. Your guide will suggest you good option for lunch.
. The Tour is in English but your Sommelier speaks fluently French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian if needed

. Legal minimum drinking age is 18 years old
. Children or non drinkers guets can join the tour. They will have to buy a non drinker ticket with a 20euros discount on the regular ticket. Please contact us to get the non drinker ticket. Please let us know before the number of children joining the tour to arrange the safety seats which are limited in numbers.
. The tour involves a small easy walk. The van can fit a wheelchair in the back
. Please look up the weather forecasts before the tour as Champagne can be hot in the Summer and sometimes rainy and cold, rainy and windy in the Winter. Cellar temperatures are always around 50F/10C. So Jaket, umbrella, good shoes are recommended.

How to get from Paris to Reims

It is very easy to go to the Champagne region from Paris for a day or more. It is actually, the best option better than car as it is faster, safer, more comfortable, no traffic, no gas.  Book your train tickets on www.sncf-connect.com .
